On 22 April, Business France Iberian Peninsula, the Agency for the international development of French companies, with the support of the Economic Service of the French Embassy in Spain and the Normandy Region, organised the First Franco-Spanish Hydrogen Summit.
We participated as listeners to learn first-hand about the foundations of a lasting and fruitful Franco-Spanish collaboration, which will allow the creation of synergies and the development of new projects. This will undoubtedly add to the current and future projects we are developing at the Foundation, but it will certainly add to our H2Piyr project: the “Hydrogen Corridor for the Pyrenees Region” (H2PiyR) that connects Spain, France and Andorra with central and northern Europe. This is in line with the objectives presented during the Summit.
This Summit also materialises the expression of interest of the President of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, and the President of the French Republic, Emmanuel Macron, during the 26th Franco-Spanish Summit, held on 15 March. The importance of hydrogen for the ecological transition and the fight against climate change was highlighted.
Mr. Javier Brey, President of the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) and Mr. Philippe Boucly, President of the French Hydrogen Association (France Hydrogène) made an interesting presentation on the hydrogen industry as the axis of the French-Spanish economic recovery.
