FHa attends Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Program meeting

FHa attends Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Program meeting in Canarias.

Aragon Hydrogen Foundation (FHa) participated on October 3 and 4 in the meeting of the Technical Coordination Committee of the Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Program, organized by the Oceanic Platform of the Canary Islands (PLOCAN) and held in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Manuel Muniesa, as head of Project Management at FHa, participated in the meeting in which the progress of the Complementary Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Plan was presented, and the progress in the work lines for optimizing the integration of the electrolysis process and the reconditioning of the hydrogen plant located at the Walqa facilities to 700 bar supply were highlighted as recent novelties.

The Complementary Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Plan, in which Aragon Hydrogen Foundation, University of Zaragoza and Technological Institute of Aragon are working, belongs to the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which outlines the roadmap for the modernization of the Spanish economy, the recovery of economic growth and job creation, for the solid, inclusive and resilient economic reconstruction after the COVID-19 crisis, and to respond to the challenges of the next decade. This Plan will receive funding from Next Generation EU funds, including the Recovery and Resilience Mechanism.

Aragon Hydrogen Foundation, University of Zaragoza and ITAINNOVA are in charge of the different Action Lines, in which they are participating, covering the value chain: hydrogen generation, storage and supply and final use of hydrogen in heavy transport.

After the meeting, the members of the Technical Coordination Committee had the opportunity to visit PLOCAN’s Offshore Oceanic Platform and learn first-hand about its decarbonization project, thanks to hydrogen technologies.
