Technical advances in the Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Complementary Plan are presented in Madrid.

This programme was initially launched with the Autonomous Communities of the Basque Country, Principality of Asturias, Aragon, Castilla La Mancha, the Canary Islands, the Autonomous Community of Navarre, Extremadura and Madrid, with the participation of the CSIC, through the signing of a framework agreement with the Ministry of Science and Innovation. Subsequently, following the Agreement of the Council for Scientific, Technological and Innovation Policy of 22 June 2022, the Autonomous Communities of Cantabria and Castilla y León have joined.

At the conference, the technical coordinators presented the technical advances achieved in the first year of the project in each of the Lines of Action (LA). Aragon currently contributes with the work of ITAINNOVA in LA1, LA3, LA6, LA7 and LA11 and the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation in LA1, LA6 and LA11.

The Foundation is responsible for the development of LA6 (Hydrogen Supply). Its objective is the reconditioning of the hydrogen plant to increase its storage and supply capacity from the current 350 bar to 700 bar, as well as work to improve hydrogen plant management (quality and communication).

This Supplementary Plan is part of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, which outlines the roadmap for the modernisation of the Spanish economy, the recovery of economic growth and job creation, for the solid, inclusive and resilient economic reconstruction after the COVID-19 crisis, and to respond to the challenges of the next decade. This Plan will receive funding from the Next Generation E U funds, including the Recovery and Resilience Facility.
