After the 37th Meeting of the Board of Trustees, in the Crown Hall of the Government of Aragon, the second edition of the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation Awards was held with the aim of stimulating both research at the highest level and the promotion of the study and knowledge of technologies related to the use of hydrogen as an energy vector, renewable energies and the decarbonisation of transport and the energy sector. The four are Trustees of the Foundation and presented the awards to the following authors:
– Redexis Foundation-Aragon Hydrogen Foundation 2021 Prize for the best Doctoral Thesis: Guillermo Matute Gómez, for his work “Technical and economic model of an electrolyser for the production of hydrogen as an energy vector”. Co-directors: Dr. José María Yusta Loyo, lecturer in the Department of Electrical Engineering of the School of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Zaragoza and Dr. Luis Carlos Correas Usón, managing director of the Walqa Technology Park.
– IDOM-Aragon Hydrogen Foundation 2021 Award for the best Master’s Thesis: Pelayo Menéndez Rodríguez, for his “Study and model of the hydrogen and SAF production chains in future sustainable aviation”. Tutor: Dr. Antonio López Lázaro, associate professor of the Degree in Aerospace Engineering at the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
– 2021 Vea Global-Fundación Hidrógeno Aragón Prize for the best Master’s Thesis: Agata Sara Horwacik, for her work “Technological and economic evaluation of hydrogen energy conversion systems based on gas turbines”. Supervisors: Professor Edgar Caetano Fernandes and Dr. Rui Pedro da Costa Neto, from the Instituto Superior Técnico, Technical University of Lisbon.
– 2021 Ercros-Fundación Hidrógeno Aragón Prize for the best Final Degree Project: Elena Barrio, for her work “Design and optimisation of electrodes for a co-ionic membrane reactor”. Tutors: Dr. Laura Almar Liante, from the Institute of Chemical Technology (UPV-CSIC) and Dr. Benjamín Eduardo Solsona Espriu, from the University of Valencia.
