The fourth edition of Energyear Spain was held in Madrid on 25 and 26 April. Energyear is a platform of opportunities for partners and customers in the different areas of the sector. It also leads the Renewable Energy congresses of the Latin American Region and Europe.
An event that highlights the good positioning of Spain in the energy sector, as Spain is on the list of the top ten nations for investors in renewables, being the most attractive country in the world in bilateral contracts for the sale and purchase of renewable electricity in the long term. During the sessions, the main debates relating to the industry were discussed, such as: the challenges of hydrogen, opportunities, the need for legislation, technologies, among other current issues in the sector.
Emilio Nieto, General Manager of CNH2 was in charge of opening the conference with the presentation of the “Roadmap for H2 in Spain and Europe: H2med 2030” and highlighted:
“The time for hydrogen is today and it is true, Europe already has an investment plan and they are going to bet on it. But it is very important that there is a public-private partnership. In Spain we are used to subsidies, but there is no money to fully cover the energy transition. That’s why companies have to bet on hydrogen and put money into it. The administration is willing to contribute money and, above all, not to stand in the way of this transition”.
The day ended with the round table: “H2 Corridors in Spain” in which our Managing Director, Fernando Palacín, participated together with representatives of: the Renewable Energy Cluster of Galicia, AHMUR; the H2 Association of Andalusia and the Basque Association of hydrogen BH2C.
