To optimise hydrogen storage in industrial environments and increase the ratio of hydrogen stored, a proportional storage infrastructure will be needed to ensure the optimal sizing of projects for different hydrogen uses.
The purpose of the project is to improve the state of the art of hydrogen storage in the gas phase at low pressure and liquid, leading to the validation of a laboratory scale prototype to experimentally verify that the theoretical calculations and investigated material properties correlate with the behaviour under laboratory conditions and at a pre-commercial scale.
Three tanks will be manufactured: pressurised, pressurised and refrigerated and liquid. These prototypes will be modified from a commercial tank to include test sensorisation. The aim is to test these ‘new materials’ in the long term in an application under design conditions, to validate their actual suitability.
