The project entitled “Strategic positioning and promotion of sustainable applications of hydrogen in the automotive and aeronautical sector” is the third phase of a series of previous projects carried out in collaboration between the Aeronautical and Aerospace Cluster of Aragon (AERA), the Automotive and Mobility Cluster of Aragon (CAAR) and the Foundation for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon (FHa). These projects focus on boosting the use of hydrogen in the automotive and aeronautics sectors.
The main objective of the project is to improve the strategic positioning of companies in the value chain in the automotive and aeronautics sectors through the promotion of hydrogen applications in their processes and products.
In this phase, work has been carried out on the strategic positioning of the companies associated with these organisations, based on previous successes. The knowledge and implementation of hydrogen technologies in the production processes of these companies has been promoted, demonstrating their commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their contribution to positive economic results.
The project has focused on a study that analyzes the impact of the implementation of an electrolyzer on a real production process. This has made it possible to compare the environmental, technical, and economic aspects of switching to a renewable and clean energy source, such as green hydrogen. This knowledge has been shared with the entities of the FHa clusters and Patrons in webinars and two face-to-face events, allowing the resolution of doubts, collection of suggestions and networking.
The expected results are promising, and it is hoped that the companies in both clusters and the FHa Trustees have strengthened their confidence in hydrogen technologies.
