Rafael Ortiz, Pablo Bañares and Paula Isla win the IV Aragon Hydrogen Foundation Awards

The IV edition of the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation Awards already has winners. The general director of Industrial Promotion and Innovation of the Government of Aragon and vice president of the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation, Mar Paños, has chaired this Friday at the Walqa Technology Park in Huesca, the awards ceremony of these awards with which we seek to promote high-level research in hydrogen technologies as an energy vector.

In this edition, as in previous editions, we have invited authors of doctoral theses, master’s theses and bachelor’s theses from different universities to present their research in the different categories. Their large participation and the support of the sponsors – Redexis Foundation, IDOM and Ercros – have made possible a new edition of these awards, which are already widely recognised in the sector.

The Redexis Foundation prize for the Best Doctoral Thesis, worth 2,000 euros, went to Rafael Ortiz for his work ‘Analysis of hydrogen behaviour in compressed hydrogen storage systems for mobility applications. Summary of research activities at the European Commission’s GasTeF experimental facility’.

The IDOM prize for the Best Master’s Thesis, worth 1,000 euros, went to Pablo Bañares for his work ‘Study of the combustion of methane-hydrogen mixtures in partial premix burners’.

Finally, Paula Isla received the Ercros prize for the Best Final Degree Project, worth 800 euros, for her work ‘Electrolytic green hydrogen and its use in obtaining renewable ammonia’.

We are very pleased with the high quality of the candidatures presented in this edition, which demonstrates the great potential of hydrogen to contribute to a more sustainable future and the interest it arouses in the field of research. All this encourages us to prepare the launch of our next edition.
