Renewable hydrogen is the sustainable energy vector that will be key for Spain to achieve climate neutrality, with a 100% renewable electricity system, no later than 2050. The development of renewable hydrogen will encourage the creation of innovative industrial value chains in our country, technological knowledge and the generation of sustainable employment, contributing to the reactivation towards a green economy with high added value.
Therefore, aware of our work since 2003, the Zaragoza Chamber of Commerce invited us to participate in its conference “Hydrogen Strategy in Aragon” on 19 November. The conference allowed us to share the current status of the different initiatives that are being proposed in our region and the future prospects.
Carlos Javier Navarro Espada, Director General of Industry and SMEs of the Government of Aragon. Vice-president of the Foundation for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon presents our initiative GetHyGA Consolidating a hydrogen energy and technology pathway in Aragon. This action plan, promoted by the Department of Industry, Competitiveness and Business Development, through the Hydrogen Foundation, seeks to create an industrial ecosystem (what is known as a “hydrogen valley”) and will mobilise more than 2,300 million euros. Currently, 78 entities have joined the initiative and have signed the letter of adhesion and 76 initiatives have been defined. In addition, our Managing Director, Fernando Palacín, presented the lines of work on which the new edition of the Hydrogen Master Plan for Aragon 2021 -2025 is working. The event was closed by Arturo Aliaga, Vice-president and Minister of Industry, Competitiveness and Business Development of the Government of Aragon and President of the Hydrogen Foundation.
