H2B-IMPACT aims to develop and consolidate a flagship Hydrogen Valley in the Federal State of Bremen by establishing an integrated ecosystem covering the production, distribution, and end-use of renewable hydrogen across key sectors, including industry, mobility, construction, and logistics. Building upon a strong industrial base and existing infrastructure, the project seeks to harmonise currently fragmented initiatives and demonstrate a highly interoperable, efficient, and scalable model that can be replicated across Europe.
The project will deploy three full-fledged value chains, with more than 25 MW of electrolyser capacity and a production exceeding 3,600 tonnes of renewable hydrogen, generating at least 1,500 tonnes of real demand through industrial and transport applications. In parallel, five innovative solutions will be demonstrated under real operational conditions, enabling their technological maturation and integration within the Hydrogen Valley ecosystem.
In this context, the main objectives of the project are:
- to establish an integrated hydrogen ecosystem connecting multiple sectors and optimising production, distribution, and consumption
- to demonstrate innovative technologies beyond the state of the art, fostering their maturity and market uptake
- to ensure system interoperability and efficiency through advanced digital solutions and optimised logistic
- to accelerate the transition towards a hydrogen-based economy, contributing to decarbonisation and energy security
- to generate knowledge, business models, and roadmaps that enable the scalability and replicability of the Hydrogen Valley concept across Europe and beyond.
