The assembly of an isolated photovoltaic installation at the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation has been completed. It is part of the European project ELY4OFF and will supply sustainable energy for hydrogen production.
The Hydrogen Foundation, coordinator of the European project Ely4Off under which this installation is included, began the works in the site annexed to its headquarters in the Walqa technology park last September. The installation consists of a photovoltaic field of 195 panels with an installed power of 62.4 kWp of clean and sustainable energy, isolated from the grid.
The energy generated will be used to power an experimental renewable hydrogen production facility using PEM electrolysis. The remaining elements of the facility will be received during the spring of 2018, with the demonstration phase scheduled to begin in July.
The hydrogen generated is intended to be used in the transport sector in order to facilitate the transition towards a sustainable mobility model with zero emissions.
