Hydrogen: a key element to ensure climate neutrality

The Foundation for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon has participated in the conference “Hydrogen: a key element to ensure climate neutrality” held within the framework of the International Energy and Environment Fair, Genera 2020.

Organized by the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) and the Spanish Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Technology Platform (PTEHPC), this conference addressed the need to find solutions that will enable decarbonisation of the main economic sectors and mitigate the consequences of climate change. This challenge, for which hydrogen technologies are prepared, as well as the wide possibilities of hydrogen of its integration with renewable energies, are the key to the success of the conference.

Guillermo Figueruelo, Business Development Manager of the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation, participated in the “Hydrogen Applications” session together with Carburos Metálicos, CIEMAT, INTA, TCI Gecomp and Toyota Spain. “The Foundation has been working on hydrogen and fuel cell applications for more than 15 years with the support of our 75 patrons”, said Figueruelo, who added that “thanks to projects financed by the FCH 2 JU such as ELYntegration, ELY4off or BIG HIT, we have developed prototypes that allow us to help improvement of this technology with such potential in Spain”.

In the previous session, about “Hydrogen Production, Storage and Distribution”, Ariema, the National Center of Hydrogen of Spain (CNH2), Enagás, Cidaut Foundation, H2B2 and Redexis participated.
