LIFE ZEROHYTECHPARK

Zero emissions using renewable energies and hydrogen technologies in building and sustainable mobility in Technology Parks
January 2010 - December 2013

SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES

LIFE ZEROHYTECHPARK project aims  to reach nearly zero emission technology parks through the use of renewable generation and sustainable mobility, and introducing efficiency energy measures to different buildings, disseminating the results to all the interested parties. Moreover, in collaboration with Walqa Technology Park, different actions to promote sustainable mobility forworkers have been developed.

The main project objectives are:

  • Achieving a building with virtually no CO2 emissions.
  • Promoting sustainable mobility.
  • Disseminating the technologies used to the general public and interested scientific and industrial sectors in particular.

This will be achieved by designing, simulating and starting up energy solutions in the headquarters building for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon, located in Walqa Technology Park in Huesca, whose results can be extrapolated to the rest of the buildings in the technology complex, as well as to other parks.

FOUNDATION ROLE

The Foundation for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon has wide experience in the development of prototypes and innovations in the field of renewable energy, energy efficiency and hydrogen technologies. Through the project, the Foundation has developed different solutions and technologies related to energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainable mobility based on hydrogen and fuel cells. Besides, through the demonstration activities in the project, the Foundation has assessed their commercial viability and the possibility of penetrating in different markets.
