H2MAQ
H2MAQ feasibility study.
March 2022 - December 2022
SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES
H2MAQ feasibility study - Deployment of renewable hydrogen technologies for mobility and power generation applications in construction.
The main objective of this study is to analyze the technical feasibility of the H2MAQ project, which aims to promote the use of green hydrogen in construction machinery as an alternative to fossil fuels with the vision of a clean and decarbonized future. The aim is to develop and validate technological demonstrators of different types of construction machinery capable of operating with hydrogen instead of fossil fuels.
This analysis will allow to obtain the necessary knowledge to determine if the H2MAQ project will really bring the benefits expected from it and to advance in the approach and definition of the R&D&I project "H2MAQ" that will be presented in subsequent European calls.
To this end, a new working group will be formed to connect the hydrogen value chain to the end use of the construction machinery industry and will participate in the development of a roadmap to disseminate and publicize green hydrogen in the Spanish construction machinery manufacturing industry.
In parallel, the type of construction machinery technically and economically susceptible to operate with hydrogen will be identified and the technical feasibility of implementing the different existing hydrogen technological solutions in construction machinery will be analyzed.
FOUNDATION ROLE
The Aragon Hydrogen Foundation will participate as an expert on hydrogen technologies to analyze those implications or technological and evolutionary needs required by this energy transformation in the construction machinery sector.
