Green hydrogen driven by Spain and Europe. The Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) inaugurated the new edition of the European Hydrogen Congress (EHEC 2022). During three days, from May 18 to 20, the main actors of the sector will present their most relevant projects, the latest technological advances and the most innovative research related to green hydrogen.
The European Hydrogen Congress, included in the “Hydrogen Roadmap: a commitment to renewable hydrogen” approved by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge (MITECO), is one of the initiatives proposed to position Spain as a country of reference at European level in technologies related to green hydrogen.
The opening ceremony was chaired by Teresa Ribera, Third Vice President of the Government and Minister for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge, Javier Brey, President of the Spanish Hydrogen Association (AeH2) and EHEC 2022, and Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission.
The President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen has highlighted that “in the first three months of this year, 20% of all new green hydrogen projects announced in the world were in Spain”.
The event brings together more than 600 attendees from over 40 countries around the world who, through four plenary sessions, parallel sessions and poster sessions, will be able to learn from the speakers about the latest technological, scientific, technical and strategic advances in the green hydrogen sector. Also, more than 50 exhibitors present their latest products, projects and services at the trade fair.
