The Enagás H₂ Technical Day, held today in Madrid, brought together experts from the technological, institutional and industrial spheres to analyse the advances and challenges of renewable hydrogen, consolidating itself as a benchmark forum in the sector.
Sharing knowledge to drive change
The event addressed key issues for the deployment of green hydrogen in Europe:
Infrastructure digitisation: how digital technologies optimise the design, operation and maintenance of future hydrogen networks.
Role of OEMs: equipment manufacturers discussed their contribution to the development of a safe, efficient and standardised transport network.
Midstream challenges: in-depth analysis of the technical and regulatory challenges in hydrogen transport and midstream storage.
R&D as a driver of progress: innovative projects and solutions that accelerate hydrogen deployment.
Launch of the Hydrogen Technology Observatory: a new collaborative platform promoted by Enagás to drive technological innovation throughout the hydrogen ecosystem.
Institutional participation: Aragon, a European benchmark
Javier Navarro, Director General for Industry and SMEs of the Government of Aragon and member of the Hydrogen Europe Board of Directors, spoke at the conference, underlining Aragon’s strategic role in the development of renewable hydrogen in Europe:
“Aragon has made a firm commitment to renewable hydrogen as a driver of industrial, energy and technological development. Participating in forums such as the H₂ Technical Day makes visible the joint work that institutions, technology centres and companies are carrying out to position our region as a key node in the European hydrogen network”.– Javier Navarro, Hydrogen Europe
Arturo Gonzalo, CEO of Enagás, also spoke, announcing the award of 32.5 million euros by the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF) to finance engineering studies for the Spanish hydrogen backbone network, within the framework of the H2Med corridor, which foresees 2,600 km of infrastructure and more than 2,600 million euros of investment until 2030.
One more step towards a sustainable energy system
The Aragon Hydrogen Foundation strongly supports initiatives such as the H₂ Technical Day because:
They promote knowledge transfer and dialogue between key players in the ecosystem.
They promote the development of a solid and secure technical infrastructure.
They reinforce the position of Spain and regions such as Aragon as a benchmark in the transition towards a decarbonised energy model.
We continue to work to ensure that renewable hydrogen is not only an option for the future, but an increasingly present reality.
