Our partners, the Basque Hydrogen Corridor (BH2C) and our project, HEAVENN, have been awarded the European “Hydrogen Valley of the Year” award. The award was recognized by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership.
The Clean Hydrogen Partnership of Europe, formed by the European Commission, the fuel cell and hydrogen industries represented by Hydrogen Europe, and the research community represented by Hydrogen Europe Research have recognized the Basque Hydrogen Corridor and HEAVENN with the Hydrogen Valley of the Year /H2Valley of the Year Award.
BH2C
The Basque Hydrogen Corridor, BH2C Association, is a project shared by public and private organizations in the Basque Country, with more than 70 associated organizations and based on a vision widely shared by the whole of our society: to be environmentally sustainable, to be a region of zero net emissions in 2050; but at the same time, to maintain the weight of the industrial sector in the economy. Euskadi is an industrial region, the industrial sector accounts for more than 25% of GDP, with sectors difficult to decarbonize (steel, glass, cement) that emit about 8.2 million tons of CO2 per year.
HEAVENN
The HEAVENN program involves cooperation with 31 public and private entities from 6 EU countries. The program is working towards a fully operational hydrogen economy in the north of the Netherlands, mainly in the provinces of Groningen and Drenthe.
FHa participates in this project leading WP6, Impact Analysis and Business Models, with an active role in the analysis of the environmental and socio-economic impacts of the project, as well as in the replicability of the HEAVENN concept in other EU member states. FHa also participates in the project’s education and training activities.
