Collaborating with the I Scientific Championship of Aragon that science to the youngest.
The Directorate General of Science and Research has created an innovative way to bring the scientific world to children. The I Scientific Championship of Aragon has been designed in the style of a children’s television contest, with the aim of promoting interest and curiosity for science in children.
In collaboration with the General Directorate of Educational Policy, Academic Planning and Continuing Education, 16 5th and 6th grade primary schools from Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel have been selected to participate in this challenge. The students will have to demonstrate their knowledge in 100 questions related to different areas of science, such as natural sciences, technology, health sciences and social sciences.
In addition, there is a special category about important people in Aragonese science and relevant questions about science. This initiative is carried out with the collaboration of Aragonese research centers, such as the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation (FHa), which have offered their facilities for the celebration during November 8.
During the stay of the contestants, FHa employees accompanied them during a tour where they could know the Foundation facilities and projects such as H2PiyR, which consists of the hydrogen plant, as well as the operation of the hydrogen car, the first model Hyundai Nexo powered by hydrogen registered in Spain.
The Championship takes place during Science Week 2023 from November 6 to 19.
