The Department of Industry, Competitiveness and Business Development and the Foundation for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon support the celebration of RENMAD 2023, the main congress on renewable hydrogen in the country. This event will be held again in Zaragoza over the next two days. Last year’s edition brought together more than 300 attendees and 50 speakers, including the main players in the sector, who made clear their interest in developing the market, processing, technology and infrastructure of green hydrogen.
The Vice-president and Minister of Industry, Competitiveness and Business Development of the Government of Aragon and President of our Foundation was in charge of opening RENMAD 2023. Arturo Aliaga reiterated that Aragon has 20 years of experience in the promotion of hydrogen technology, which has been decisive for the creation, together with the Basque Country, Catalonia and Navarre, of the Ebro Hydrogen Corridor, “an unparalleled initiative in our immediate environment, because there is no other project like this in the European Union that involves four leading regions in different complementary aspects between them and a great private initiative such as the SHYNE multisectoral consortium. We jumped on the hydrogen train two decades ago and that has allowed us to maintain a leading position”.
Aliaga reminded those present that “Aragon has great potential to produce green hydrogen, but the goal is to go further and ensure that much of it is consumed here, benefiting various economic sectors and leading the manufacture of capital goods, while continuing to work on the entire hydrogen value chain and in all the cross-cutting areas that the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation identified as key 20 years ago and that are now essential when executing any industrial project. This congress serves to establish contacts and to launch new projects that can be very beneficial for Aragon. It is exciting that the centre of hydrogen technologies is once again our Community, where important European projects will be developed in the coming years. The objective of hydrogen being a revulsive for our companies is being achieved”.
