Both organizations have signed a memorandum of understanding that will allow them to exchange experiences in the development of projects and explore new commercial opportunities that will benefit companies working in this field.
Cooperating to organize activities that promote research, innovation, technological development, training and dissemination of the hydrogen and fuel cell sector is the objective of the memorandum of understanding signed by the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation and the Chilean Hydrogen Association (H2 Chile).
This agreement, which contemplates the possibility of both entities establishing alliances with other organizations in their respective geographical locations, focuses on collaboration with economic development organizations to take advantage of commercial opportunities that may benefit companies and research centers working in the hydrogen field, as well as to share experiences obtained in the development of projects. With this new alliance, the Foundation expands its collaboration network with international groups, strengthened in 2015 with the Scottish Hydrogen and Fuel Cell Association (SHFCA), seeking business opportunities in the field of renewable energies and hydrogen, not only for the entity itself but also for companies in Aragon.
The Aragon Hydrogen Foundation and the Chilean Hydrogen Association share objectives and areas of interest that justify the signing of this agreement. Thus, the former, based in the city of Santiago, is a non-profit association founded in 2018 whose main objective is to promote the use of hydrogen as a sustainable energy vector, encouraging research, development and use in industrial, commercial, residential and mobility applications. Founded by 28 members, it already groups 45, both companies and people working in the main companies in the hydrogen value chain. Despite its youth, H2 Chile is already recognized as a fundamental platform to promote the energy transition in its field of action. As such, it has participated in important events on the role that hydrogen can play in this process of global change, such as the World Climate Summit (COP25) held at the end of 2019 in Madrid. The Chilean Hydrogen Association is part of the technical committee that oversees the deployment of the National Hydrogen Strategy in that country.
For its part, the Foundation for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon is a non-profit organization of a private nature created more than 15 years ago with headquarters in the Walqa Technology Park in Huesca and a Board of Trustees composed of 75 members, most of them private companies of reference in their respective sectors.
