The 7th MEDENER International Conference has been organized last September 26 in Rhodes, Greece by the Mediterranean Association of National Agencies for Energy Management (MEDENER) in close cooperation with the Greek Center for Renewable Energy Sources and Saving (CRES), in the framework of the project “Mitigation Enabling Energy Transition in the Mediterranean Region” (meetMED).
Under the topic of ‘Sustainable energy solutions for islands and remote areas: frontrunners for the energy transition in the Euro-Mediterranean region’, FHa presented the latest results and status of the BIG HIT project together with the high impact that the actions undertaken in the Orkney islands can have in the rest of the islands in the Mediterranean region. The leading of hydrogen and fuel cell technologies in the energy transition in insular territories has been delighted and the regions participant were invited to join the Hydrogen Territories Platform.
The Conference had remarkable speeches such as from Mr. Leonidas Kioussis, Senior Expert, DG ENERGY, EU Comission or Ms. Antonia Proka, Clean Energy for EU Islands Secretariat.
