The Foundation for the Development of New Hydrogen Technologies in Aragon has obtained a global aid of 174,855 euros from the call of 2018 of national program to support innovative business groups (AEI), convened by the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Spain, for five projects promoted by the entity or that have their participation. The AEI support program plans to support innovation and business competitiveness strategies developed by innovative business groups that are recognized as such as a result of their registration in the special Register of AEI of the Ministry, as is the case of the AEI New Hydrogen Technologies, managed by the foundation itself and formed by all the entities belonging to its board. Among other objectives, this program seeks to reinforce the role of clusters as agents capable of fostering collaboration between universities, R+D centres and productive fabric as a measure of improving competitiveness.
These five projects in which the Aragon HydrogenFoundation works have a joint budget of 242,500 euros that will cover in 72% the aid of the national AEI program and pursue the objectives as varied as the research in fuel cells by renewable fuels such as biogas; The design of anelectric agricultural vehicle; Increase safety in road tunnel staking into account hydrogen technology; The integration of longterm uninterrupted feeding systems based on hydrogen fuel cells in telecommunications applications or the reduction of energy costs in the industry 4.0.
Each one of them is briefly described below:
- BioSOC (design studio and remote monitoring system with versatile test functions and intelligent operation of reversible solid oxide technology powered by biogas from organic waste).
The main objective of this 7-month long project that leads and coordinates the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation is to design a test bench for reversible solid oxide stacks and mono-cells for its application as fuel cells and/or electrolyzers of High temperature fueled by renewable fuels, a technology related to the revaluation of waste and efficient use of biogas, as well as the transition to complete decarbonization of the current energy system. During the project will work on the versatility and automation of the control system that allows the monitoring, management and intelligent operation of the bank, which will provide unique benefits and position of Spain on the international scene in this field. - TEMAUT. This project will establish the basis for the design of an electric energy driven agricultural vehicle that can perform different functions such as handling fruit and citrus pallets in fruit and citrus farms, in an autonomous and robotic way. In the medium term the objective is to develop a multifunctional tractor adaptable, through accessories, to develop other functions such as weeding, fumigating or applying fertilizer. With a lead time between September 2018 and March 2019, TEMAUT counts as partners with Talleres Cobins (manufacturers of industrial agricultural machinery), SAT1243 (Agrarian Transformation Society and Producer Organization), Serrater (company of Family capital with Apple and other extensive crops of wheat, maize, sunflower and rapeseed), Vernis Motors (manufacture of rotary electric machines), FEMAC (Catalan cluster of agricultural production media) and Aragon HydrogenFoundation (cluster Innovative business grouping in new technologies of the AEI-NTH hydrogen). In particular, the role of the Aragonese Foundation is focused on the selection of the robot’s energy source, the sizing and selection of the energetic equipment and its control and the configuration of the energy control equipment.
- InstunH2-II, increasing safety in road tunnels to the challenge of H2. This project emerged as a continuation of the INSTUNH2 project, in which a first analysis was carried out identifying aspects related to hydrogen fuel cell vehicles that may have influence on the safety of the tunnels, selecting several fire scenarios to simulate and, finally, developing fluidodinamics simulations of these scenarios. From this previous project were obtained very interesting results like the emission of heat of the fire and its variation over time, or a map of the radiation that would be received in the vicinity of it. After this first phase, the work will now focus on validating these results by real fire tests, with the view set in studying the different options that exist for the practical realization of the actual trial and to propose a system of obtaining Information (sensorization) that allows to measure the variables of interest simultaneously at various points in the section of a tunnel. The partners involved in the project are IDOM Consulting, engineering, Architecture S.A.U., Gotor Comunicaciones and the Foundation itself.
- COMPACT SAI 4.0. This project is a technical feasibility study,of sustainability and economic integration of equipment of long-life uninterrupted feeding systems based on hydrogen cells in diverse applications of telecommunications asstations base, network operations centers or internal communication systems. The batteries to be integrated in this study are the GENCELL G5, which are distributed in Spain by SAI, belonging to the INGESOL group based in Zaragoza. During the project an integrated solution will be developed for the afore mentioned applications and acomparison will be made with the technologies currently used in the market. In this case, the participants will be Satel, a specialized engineering company in the telecommunications sector; VEA Global, consultant with experience in the design and development of intelligent management systems oriented to industry 4.0 and industrial engineering designs, and the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation, which has extensive experience in production systems of Electricity based on hydrogen-fuelled fuel cells and particularly in offering containerized solutions for specific situations. In this case the foundation will participate in the design of the integration of the necessary equipment to give a compact solution of intelligent Isolated Supply compact SAI4.0, as well as in compared to traditional solutions and in the final economic study of the Solution found.
-
RIEG 4.0. Project that aims to respond to a need of the company connected 4.0 as is the reduction of energy costs from the automated management of both the demand curveand electrical consumption in general, acting on large-consumption operations energy in particular. The participants in RIEG 4.0 are, in addition to the Aragon Hydrogen Foundation, the companies Satel and Tafyesa and the consultancy VEA Global.
